"Strong as an OAK," "Tiny Glowing Screens(both parts)", "Cardboard Castles" & "Sloppy Seconds" are still regular parts of my playlist. Even on the best days, they can still manage to draw a tear or 2 out when reminiscing on my life in 2013. The album itself was a light in a dark period so I've been thrilled to see a resurgence of music 10 years later.

A dear dear friend who helped me during a terrible time showed me Hey, Asshole. I was pretty broke but I had to buy Cardboard Castles and I played it relentlessly in my tiny apartment (in my dvd player cuz I didn't have room for a stereo) over and over. Sloppy Seconds is still one of my heart songs. ❤🎂

Very few albums are as nostalgic as this one for me, and part of the reason is because it was truly original. I had never heard a similar rapper to Watsky in my life. My best friend and I went to see you that year in Atlanta, and to this day “Sloppy Seconds” is so nostalgic for us and brings us back to our younger early college days driving around the suburbs and singing along

Grew up on this in highschool, then when I had my first big boy break up in adulthood I had complaint and placement to get me through. Uncannily relatable break up story. Thankyou Watsky 👌

I love this album for many reasons. One is the theme of keeping childhood wonder alive. So when I fall I start, to build my Taj Mahal with shit I found at dollar mart. Thank you for all you do Watsky, you’re amazing.

Just wrote a song recently reflecting on a moment in my life when Strong as an OAK helped me get through a really rough spot and helped someone else who i didn’t even know who was in the same place as me. And in the worst of our shared struggles we wound up singing it together and it helped create a bit of camaraderie to carry us through. You inspired me early on in my journey w life and music and inspire me even moreso now and I thank you so much for all you’ve done and reminding me all I can do as well.
