Make sure to check your YT account to see if "Restricted Mode" was automatically turned ON for you and turn it OFF. YT recently started randomly turning this feature ON for some users that hides tons of videos from your feed/subscriptions. Hopefully they address this soon (I doubt it) but it's definitely affected my channels over the last 2-3 weeks.

@Will-i3x

Yeah for real. You are the second channel I've seen that addressed this. It wasn't turned on for me, but I'm just one of like a billion people, so we gotta spread the word

“It’s okay, we’re Google. We’re too big to fail. Now roll out the AI auto-reporting feature!”

When Red letter media and fighting game channels start talking about it, you know its serious

@Pgo9ro

It's not only that though. They messed up something and a lot of channels have been affected. When channels like redlettermedia, who has very good engagement, makes a video addressing this, you know something is truly messed up. Stay strong Matt.

Also, make sure you check everywhere you use youtube. Because the restricted mode says "this only applies to this browser". Boy howdy this website is run by competent people.

@weeseet

You're like the seventh YouTuber in my feed posting something like this. Which I'm not complaining about, but it shows how big of a problem this is. Rest easy, they'll do absolutely nothing to address it or even acknowledge it.

Between this and the automatic unremovable translations I wonder if YouTube thinks I'm a freakin toddler, I'm 34

@crapshot321

Yeah, I've been hearing this from several content creators now. Google really hates people, don't they?

We need more eyes on what's going on with the online ecosystem. The looming hyper censorship HAS to be stopped. People fought against net neutrality and thats not even half the threat this is. People need to get loud

Aside from the creators I follow I genuinely hate YouTube smh I wish we had a viable alternative

Youd think YouTube would tell people when they make changes this major. I'm kidding. No one expects that.

Probably related to the new AI age-verification algorithm. My settings still have it off, but I can imagine it's turned a lot of people's settings on based on their content and/or viewing habits. It basically makes the decision for you, whether you're of reasonable age or not.

@Elefantoche

I'm 35 years old. Still not sure why YT like to treat people around my age as toddlers.

@Totavier

Now it make sense to me the why some of my settings were changed. Some options that I had turned off like play a next video inmediately, restrictions and auto-translation were turned On for no reason, for a moment I thought my account was hacked so I had to change my password, lol.

@Nergalsama01

Thx for the headsup. It's crazy how widespread this is. Restriced mode is "off" in my settings right now and has never been "on" as far as I can tell, but I'm keeping an eye on it.

Same - this really sucks for smaller creators

I work at a group home with restricted wifi access so I was familiar with Restricted Mode since it turns on automatically on the network, but having it just randomly turn on is crazy especially if you’re using cell data

@levimilk

That explains alot. From my own channel and the ones I've seen talk about this stuff.
