As it stands right this second 20250802 Barebones There is high potential but right now it being marketed as anything other than early access in my mind is complete insanity. The new and improved MEAT system is cool to see in action Splitting heads in zed time feels.. off? Idk I feel like my crosshair is directly over a Zeds head and it misses but shooting hip fire is more accurate? The new mod system is actually very promising. Weapon designs feel way too sci fi. Not to mention despite being on the highest available graphics settings the insides of the guns, reload animations in zed time highlight this especially. The bullets in the magazine of the Commando starter rifle are very low poly. Or just look very unfinished. There’s this weird bug with the railgun if you have the quick mag where it kinda just levitates into the gun? Idk if it’s intentional or not. The firebug starter gun is literally a nail gun? I think? I’ve nothing to base it on. It’s unrecognizable to me and makes me not like it. The flamethrower matches but the shotgun not so much. Map designs are okay, although the grounded and industrial maps are fan favorites so far so IMO they need to double down on down to earth realism with BITS of sci fi and back away from the full blown sci fi stuff. Maps still feel clean but are now just Dark. A blood splatter here or there but nothing that sparks that intrigue KF or KF2 gave. Like seeing the Eiffel Tower on fire in burning Paris or the homeless signs in West London for examples. It’s ok/10 I’ve played about 30 hours and got bored because there’s still an on going issue of infinite loading/match-making times so I don’t even try multiplayer anymore. Whenever the first patch comes out I’ll give it another college try cause I want this game to be a commercial success but as it stands rn this should’ve baked in the oven for a few more months with at least a dozen or so play tests and betas.

Honestly... looks kinda generic. I think verac summarized it best. But if you enjoy it... theres no problem. Im sure its going to create its own community with time. Anyways... PLAY DARKTIDE DERTH!
