I used Duolingo a lot in Middle and High School to help with my ability to speak French. I’ve since graduated, but I wonder what my old teachers think of what this app has become…

It never taught you language. You've learned a bit of words in specific cases. You didn't learn grammar, didn't learn nuances, didn't learn punctuation. That always has been just crappy f2p mobile game that made you think you getting smarter

Great video. What I haven't seen covered are the ads. I was a Duolingo user, with ads. I was learning with my young son and an ad popped up where a woman put a DILDO on an exercise ball, next scene she was bouncing on it :/

Hey, I have a topic suggestion. Remember that meme with a smart guy wearing glasses wallpaper thing? Yeah, he's a huge russian YouTuber. Right now there's a big drama brewing around him. The thing is, he initially spoke out against the war in Ukraine like most other big creators. But 3 or 4 days ago he published an apparent ad post in his Telegram, praising the russian army and its new unmanned systems forces. Many fans feel betrayed and subscribe by tens on thousands. While russian partiots and bots came over to protect him and boost hos subscriber numbers. Funnily enough, as with any artificial subscriber boost, there's no increase in view counts on his videos. Anyways, it's worth looking into it right now while it happens, before stuff gets deleted.
