Framing it this way is so genius. Thanks Dr. K, what a fantastic visual of how to actually DO THE THING

What worked for me is saying "I GET to work out", as it's an incredible privilege to go out for a run and do weights as there are a lot of people who just physically can't.

True 😭. There will always be worse thoughts before trying, making you uncomfortable and guilty

Feeling dissapointed with myself helps me. Disgrace is much stronger than tempoary uncomfort

I tried the awareness path to building habits, one month at Gym is done 🥳 I've stopped seeing Gymming as a reward inherently but I'm always pleasantly surprised when I pass my PR. Instead of watching 7 Dr K videos a day I just watch 1 or 2 and think about them for a bit after, because knowing won't win me the battle, doing will 🫶🏻. Thank you D

Caffeine, kratom, cold and hot showers, quick pushup and squats after waking up, deep breath and big shout afterwards, total fear of poverty and homeless before going out for errands or work or exercise. - Those are my big motivation tools as of late. You asked and I answered.

I find that I don't watch your full length videos nearly as often as I used to. That said, when a post like this comes around it often grabs my attention, and I really appreciate them. Reading this reminder today really boosted my mood! Thank you!

On top of feeling I'm not good enough to complete the goals I want to I often struggle to find meaning in them. I have flashes of motivation for doing creative work but then I inmedeatly think "whats the point?" I can have easier fun doing something else, other person will eventually create pretty much what I had in mind, whatever positive effect my work could have will be innefficient and I have to do actual paid work anyway so I shouldn't be wasting time on that. I struggle to see the point on doing anything remotely challenging that doesn't result in a tangible benefit to me or others, and yet I keep getting the urge to create something new

Ive found a good amount of success by making my workouts entirely less formal. Instead of doing specific reps and exercises, I walk down to the park and try to experiment with ways to push, pull, and move my body in unique ways, with a big focus on stretching. Ive been feeling stronger and more fit than ever. Its also nice because I'm discovering muscle groups that I would have missed through traditional training. I highly recommend checking out the channel Hybrid Calisthenics for anyone who thinks this sounds like a good idea. The guy who runs it is a huge inspiration to me. Great guy.

Fortunately, I’ve never had problems with procrastination or anything like that. I’ve always known that if I don’t do something, no one else will—and if I don’t do it now, there’s a high chance I won’t do it later. Plus the fact that the earlier you begin, the earlier you'll finish. However, the real issue is a lack of capacity. I know I’m not good, even though I try. And there’s also a lack of meaning and hope—because, death is more appealing than life. The future is built on the present, and since the present is worse than the past, the future will be even more terrible. Anyway, I love your content and your character!

I get to wake up earlier I get the chance to practice sleeping earlier till my desired wake up time is achieved I've tried things in the past but it never works but I can learn from the mistakes and keep fixing and twitching till it works I can't do anything right - as long as I have breath in my lungs, I have the freewill and power to make it right in my own time, and my own way LOVE Y'ALL 💖☀️

I remind myself that it doesn’t matter if I want to work out today, it matters what will happen overall if I do.

I use this equation : Motivation = Sucess. When you want succes, you have to create motivation for yourself!
6 days ago | 2
I remove the motivation entirely from the equation. Without it, there's no reason to do it and also there's no reason not to do it. When it happens, it happens. If you enjoy it, you don't need motivation. Now I'm a 37 years old always mistaken to be early or mid 20s due to becoming healthy.

I also wanted to work out . But I couldn't wake up early. Cause I couldn't sleep early. I tried but couldn't. That's why I workout in the evening

For me it’s the opposite of “talking myself out of doing the task”. When I allow myself to speak as negatively as I want, I get to acknowledge the challenges and figure out how to overcome them. But if I have to stay silent, I procrastinate for hours or even days, unconsciously knowing that it’s a difficult task and thus avoiding it

For me its having a reason to do something. If a person has tooth pain the pain will be the reason for them to fix the tooth. In another case is motivation, money can motivate a person to get a job. And wasting time is another. The sun will set so its best to go outside now and to do something later. Never say "ill do it later" because you wont, be it prayer or work. If you are reading this then thanks and go do 5 push ups now. To see if you learnt from what i said. If you did then congrats you are disciplined you might go and achieve things.

How do you get motivated? Do you wait for it to hit, or do you take action, even when it feels like you’re trying to push a boulder up a hill?
What often happens is we slowly talk ourselves out of doing the thing we need to do.
Our inner voice can be so good at making us believe we can’t achieve our goals. We spiral, and eventually, we start to believe we can’t do anything right.
If we convince ourselves we can’t do it before we even start, we save ourselves the embarrassment of trying and then failing, which seems worse than not trying at all.
But our brains don’t always have our best interests at heart. If we always base our actions on fear, we’d never achieve anything.
It’s uncomfortable to deal with, but success always comes with failures. You HAVE to stumble and fail before you see results.
For most of us, motivation rarely comes from waiting around. You have to create motivation by doing the thing you don’t want to do.
Instead, think about slowly building a habit. If you want to work out more, for example, start by working out 15 minutes a few times a week, then keep increasing the time/frequency.
Start small and keep things interesting by changing up your workouts once in a while. And do it even when you’d rather be doing anything else. You got this! 💚😊
