Fun fact , Moorechip technologies owns both retroid pocket and AYN , so they got the same resources, developers and engineers , thats why this is basically the Flip 2 done right ...its like Acura and honda... both the same company , one is affordable the other luxury...if you notice , some of the buttons are the same ...so boys WE EATIN GOOD

Oh shit been seeing these pics all over but ignored them bc I thought they were for the Aya neo one! This thing looks awesome. I’m just super hesitant with clamshells now after the Miyoo/Retroid flip hinges (plus the hinge on my very first handheld the GPD XD+ went out of nowhere after barely using it). Even tho I kno ayn makes good stuff after seeing how great the Odin2 was.

AYN did say they were going to buy the QC 8gElite (QC 8g4) on bulk discount for next year. So while there is a small chance the AYN Thor could have the latest QC 8gE.... I believe here they're still on the old QC 8g2 chipset. That's not bad, since it's a good chipset, and much more capable than other brands. We won't see the AYN Odin3 until another 6-9 months, after phones with QC 8g5 have hit the shelves.

probably better than the ayaneo one, cause smaller and more compact, and probably cheaper

Stylish gotta say, like a formal wear 3DS. 🤤 Can't wait til the reviews come out

I hope there’s a more budget option, and I hope it’s not too noticeable in ur pocket.

I'm genuinely happy with the price of the Thor; in my opinion, it's a very good price! The thing is... I won't always want to play DS/3DS games, so... I think I still prefer the Mini V2 + Dual Screen, and when I want to play DS/3DS games, I use the second screen. Otherwise, I use the Mini V2 as an EDC. But at the same time, I loved Thor. Man, what a dilemma...

Hope the shoulder Buttons are more rounded/ergonomic, that's my only concern with the pocket flip 2

It's like Toyota (Retroid) and (AYN) Lexus. The AYN Thor however does have (significantly) worse ergonomics than the Retroid Pocket Flip2. And it seems to be slightly larger, and heavier.... making the (barely) pocketable Flip2 even more uncomfortable in the pocket. You seriously need really open pockets, or have to bring a backpack. And honestly if you're having to bring a backpack, I would just bring the AYN Odin2 Portal instead for new3DS emulation, and use the larger display. While the AYN Thor displays are nicer than Retroid, it can either show the Top Display at Max Brightness and Refresh Rate with VRR. Or it can show both displays at locked 60Hz and Lower Brightness. This seems to be an Android limitation. Overall, this isn't a bad thing, in my books. Trying to emulate DS/DSi/2DS/new3DS systems is going to be fine on those screens. The AYN Thor has more than enough performance with the QC 8g2. It is just the lack of finalized/polished software holding it back. If I had to choose between a Modded new3DS, or the AYN Thor.... I'm picking the latter. It's doing the things of the former, plus much more, in my pocket. If I have to bring a backpack, I rather get the AYN Odin2 Portal instead of these two. Or the Valve SteamDeck OLED in my backpack.

I guess my rp flip 2 goes back to china, once it arrives. This looks insane.

Make it a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 [to cope with two screens] and a realistic battery size [around 6000mah] and it's a no brainer.

Preordered the pocket ds. Still on the fence to see battery size since that's extra important for a dual screen device. So far I'm curious but not convinced by Thor

Okay, so it is actually smaller than I thought and it is 120hz, now I am curious. I have a PP5 and I bought the Dual screen thingy because it is cheap and I am pretty happy with the RP5 in general. I know it is a bit of a meme but if this has at least a Snapdragon 8Gen2 this truly would be my Android handheld endgame, because I don't know what else I would want out of an Android device. I am looking forward to see how the size compares to the Flip2.

Nice for portability. I wonder if they will have the same issue as Ayaneo with the 120Hz not working with both displays active…
