In Thailand, drowning is a major cause of death for young people, but in England we are all taught to swim at school

I'm from a surfer town in California. I practically swam before I walked

Kinda. I won't drown immediately but I wouldn't call what I do in water swimming. I love water but try to stay away from deep place.

Learnt in the 1970’s but I never really lived near water… a river yes but rarely went to the beach… but rips & sharks kept me confined to the breakers 😂

What is the purpose of your question? Is it just to get comments to benefit financially?

Yes, like a beginner child. I got my seahorse certificate in Germany when I took an adult class for non swimmers

I can’t swim long distances but I’m ok with snorkeling and getting around in a pool or calm water.

I know how to swim ! But I don't swim now due to health issues and the palaver of trying to get a place available at any of the local leisure centres

Lived near the Atlantic Ocean most of my life, so I spent a lot of time at the beach in the summer. I'm too old to fight the waves now, but I still swim in a pool.

At 59 I am swimming since before I could walk, I swim 1 time a week at a indoor pool that's handicapped accessible. I want to see a handicapped accessible apartment in Russia.

Grew up opposite Henley Beach in South Oz, my school had a pool so had no choice but to learn to swim at a very young age and don't regret it at all.

Better question is "Can you swim well?" Because, lots of people KNOW how to swim, but CANT swim well. Anyway, I can swim, but only in clear or known water. If it's just a random lake - nope. I'm NOT going swim there. Nuh-uh. If it's sea (any ) with caution. Glass shards at the bottom or random sea urchin or medusas or any sea creature at the bottom might cause a lot of troubles. Ocean, river with unpredictable stream - big no-no
