@iamswell

Hi there! I love all your advice and ideas. Learning so much from you; thank you for that. I was particularly interested in the need for shade for the hummers, as a part of my deck gets hot from full sun most of the day. I started to make my list of supplies from your video, and had another idea I'd like to share with you. I went on Temu and got a couple of those colorful umbrella hats they have. I think they were a little over $3. I took those and screwed a hook in both the top and in the middle on the inside and then used the planter chains cut to length and used one to attached to the outside hook on the umbrella and then hang from the feeder holder, and same thing on the inside of the umbrella to hang the feeder from the hook on the inside. So easy, so fun, so inexpensive and they look so cute. And my hummingbirds seem to like it also. Thanks again for all your tips and tricks. Have a nice summer.

@Penn_chill

I’m not sure where to post this where you will see it and hopefully, reply, but I’d love to know how you suggest creating safe places for feeders/baths when options like tree limbs, deck rails, etc aren’t available AND you have cats! 🙀Obviously, everything has to be out of cat’s reach but accessible to me. FYI, the cats are so well fed and lazy they lie about and WATCH birds at the feeders and never go after them. I worry they may not be so nonchalant about hummers. Sorry for the lengthy reply, but I’m at a loss & am so excited to try your great hummingbird ideas. I even have the solar pumps, bowls, etc & such! Help! And thanks

Ohhhh-I am making this (at least one) for sure--what type and length of tubing do you use? Sorry if you've had to answer this question over and over!

How high off the ground do these have to be? We put ours on planter stands but have no visitors.
