Conan exiles right now has to be the hardest survival game to play you know when you’re stuck glitching and looping in your damn building and you can’t move 10 feet in front of you without getting thrown back or getting stuck in a wall. It’s got to be the hardest game to play cause you fucking can’t right now, lol

CONAN! It has what feels like 100s of different crafting benches. And glitches constantly.. But I can’t act like I haven’t ran for an hour in DayZ finding NOTHING.

The simple answer is DayZ and Rust, with DayZ being the winner. In Ark and Conan, people are willing to do their own things, as there’s far more to the game than PvP. However in Rust and DayZ, everything in the game is designed to build up to and around that PvP, allowing you to take part in PvP or survive it if you’re a more defensive player. DayZ is infinitely more unforgiving given its drop scarcity alone. I’ve ran for hours in multiple loops of finding nothing on a populated server and consistently starving, sometimes with a can in my inventory but no way to open it. This was due to a bad cycle of groups running through spawns, killing freshies, and freshies spawning elsewhere and grubbin’ up loot only to die to more geared folk inland who were watching the roads from the trees in full ghillie with scoped rifles and very big bullets. DayZ snipers rightfully put the fear of god into folks if they’re good, and a lot of the player base has had many years of practice. No formal group UI or system also makes any bonds you make with players where a discord isn’t exchanged very temporary and superficial, with it ending in betrayal at least semi-frequently. Contrarily Ark has breeding, farming, which in Mega Tribes, have peopled dedicated to. They can play a PvP server and almost never PvP, and just play their favorite part of the game uninterrupted till they have to defend what is theirs. They can do this, because breeding is a necessary time consuming thing that pays off for both the PvE side of the game but also extremely helpful on the PvP side. A tribe structure means you all see each other when you get back on, and the tribe log lets you see what folks have done… sorta, Conan is similar in only that the end goal aside from PvP is building an awesome harem of male or female hotties in probably some of the most badass bases you’ve ever seen. Or instead maybe you tame up a demonic zoo of awesome creatures, while farming loot and weapons, or decorating your base with the golden treasures you find due to the treasury system. Hell, you can even build a bar for vibes with NPCs that will visit. The PvE content in Conan and Ark have somehow facilitated an environment that in my experience more commonly convinces people to live and let live. In the best scenarios it adds a sort of political environment to a server between clans and tribes! I once led a servers Alpha tribe on Ark way back, and on our server there were no mega tribes, so instead we got to politics and agreed that no native tribe would attack a native tribe, thus forming an alliance. This was in response to off-server raiding, and a lot of folks just wanting to “Play Ark” with the option of raiding and PvP. That’s important, and while I say that’s because of the PvE content in the game, it could honestly vary person by person on what it means to “Play Ark,” or “Play Conan,” but when someone says they’re going to “Play Rust” for example we know that they’re playing for the PvP. Maybe this is all a long winded way of saying that the focus of Rust and DayZ is more centric and not as varied as Ark and Conan. But circling back to difficulty, even DayZ takes the cake with its PvE side. Finally you get established, but you get sick, have no meds… boom. Everything gone. DayZ is the most difficult survival game on this list.

@KC_604

It’s not for the most popular it’s for the toughest and Day Z and rust are both ridiculously tough to spawn in as a new player ark is way easier that’s not even debatable

@WeAre1Legion

Ark is hard if you play with your eyes closed, hardest I'd say Is Dayz and rust is a very close 2nd if you're in a populated PVP server
