Different types of Galaxies 🌌

Today we're talking about the different types of galaxies in our universe. First up, we have elliptical galaxies. These are the most common type and are shaped like a football or egg. They're made up of old stars and have little to no gas or dust.

Next, we have spiral galaxies which are easily recognizable by their swirling arms. These galaxies have a central bulge and are filled with gas and dust which allows for the formation of new stars. Our very own Milky Way is a spiral galaxy.

Moving on, we have lenticular galaxies which are a mix between elliptical and spiral galaxies. They have a central bulge like elliptical galaxies but also have a disk-like structure like spiral galaxies.

Finally, we have irregular galaxies which, as the name suggests, have no defined shape. They're typically smaller and contain a lot of gas and dust which allows for the formation of new stars.

So there you have it, the four main types of galaxies in our universe: elliptical, spiral, lenticular, and irregular. Each one is unique in its own way and contributes to the vastness and beauty of our universe.
