Gregorian Chant Academy

🎶 Thinking of launching a LIVE Gregorian Chant Cohort! Would You Join? 🎶

I'm considering starting a 12-week live training program in Gregorian Chant — and I want to know how interested you'd be in joining!

We’d meet once a week for 2 hours, focusing equally on:

🎼 Theory & analysis (modes, verbal/melodic phrase structure, semiology, etc.)

🎤 Live performance & feedback (refining technique, ensemble work, interpretation)

🎁 Bonus: Each participant would get one free private singing lesson with me (online or in-person if you're local)

Prerequisites for the program would include:

1. A basic understanding of square notation

2. Ability to solfège

3. Some familiarity with psalmody (chanting the Psalms)

To ensure the best experience for everyone, students would be accepted through a short application + intake quiz — so the program could be tailored around your strengths, weaknesses, and goals.

If this sounds exciting to you, drop a comment below and let me know your level of interest. Your feedback will help me decide if this becomes a reality!

yes, if I'm able to find the time. I have a family, so having them recorded behind a paywall would be great.

Id very likely sign up if my work schedule doesn’t get in the way. Basically I need to go to bed by 7pm EST most nights.

Definitely interested. I've been hoping to find a kind of intermediate level of chant practice. Plenty of experience reading music as an orchestral musician but practicing chant alone can be slow given that I'm not a trained vocalist.

I'm very interested. I'm a trained musician/singer, but never took it fully through college. In my midlife, I have been working to study and learn chants and the workings of polyphony sacred music. It's really hard to find chant resources that are more advanced than 'how to read music, and basic Latin pronunciation'... But less advanced than a doctorate in Sacred Music

I’m a newbie in Melbourne Australia. I am interested if the times line up. I have learnt Regina Caeli and Ave Verum and am practising Solfeg regularly.
