👍 it’s a common theme for threat actors to offer their own download for a software but simply add a routine that does malicious stuff. So it might still do the intended thing making the target think “good thing it’s working so Ik it’s legit” as when a program doesn’t run and flashes a power shell window users know their data is in danger. Open source/community projects are often the target as its common for them to not be signed

FYI I had previously made a fortnite video about "NL Hybrid", a fortnite mod which was often accused (but not) malware. I removed that video today as the project has been discontinued due to a cease and desist from Epic Games, any "NL Hybrid" you see from now on is fake and probably malicious. I will update if that changes
