Oklou
Oklou’s 2020 mixtape ‘Galore’ took the French artist from rising star into the realms of pop innovators and earned her support slots with Caroline Polachek and Oneohtrix Point Never. Her long-awaited debut album ‘Choke Enough’, released in February, cements that position – but also finds her shifting her approach.
“It was a very introspective moment,” she reflects on ‘Galore’. “But I felt the need to take my eyes away from the inside and look more to the outside.” Where that mixtape was so concerned with the lived and the dreamed, ‘Choke Enough’ taps into a new perspective: the observed.
