Dazai IS a human magnet in canon 😭 he’s had women STALK him, then there’s that scene with the nurse…and not to mention the one scene where chuuya threatens to send Dazais address out to all the women Dazai has left crying. But also there’s a Valentines day event where chuuya just receives NOTHING, no one has come up to him and he didn’t even realise it was Valentines day…meanwhile Dazai got given heaps of chocolates from women. (Also imo it might also been based on attractiveness, both are canonically very attractive but by Japans standards Dazai is essentially the ideal man in terms of looks

THISS I’m so sick of people making chuuya the one that pulls when it’s literally canon Dazai does. Dazai has had a woman stalk him and then became a waitress because she was jealous one of the waitresses at the cafe was flirting with him, what about that screams “chuuya pulls and Dazai is the jealous one”??

It’s like people forget that Dazai has had a woman OBSESSED with him (as in stalking, love letters, sends him threats when he and one of the other waitresses flirt w each other, got a job at the cafe as a waitress because of that), he and one of the other waitresses at the cafe (not the old married one who for some reason is a young adult in the anime) seem to flirt with each other on the regular, chuuya threatens to send Dazais address out to all the women Dazai had left crying, Asagiri has stated that Dazai is popular among women and has had many girlfriends, Atsushi even thought Dazai could’ve been a model/actor and Dazais attractiveness has been complimented by women AND men. Dazai has INSANE game.

Both are people magnets, honestly. But Dazai is naturally charming with his appearance and intellect, plus his silly and goofy antics, which makes him look more approachable to people and he KNOWS it, so he skillfully uses it to his advantage. I think Chuuya is pretty much oblivious to the admiration of other people and he doesn't actively try to charm anyone, but he appreciates and likes the attention when it is given to him. He looks like a bad guy until you get to know him and then realize how much of a good person he is because Chuuya just wants to be helpful and is genuinely kind. I have to disagree on Chuuya being the more jealous one, though. In fanon stuff it can be fun to do, but if you take into account the canon materials, he really doesn't care about the attention given to Dazai by other people unless they mean to harm him in a more serious way. He even knows all of the women that had their hearts broken by Dazai - I can't see a truly jealous person doing that. He does get competitive with Dazai and angry when he loses, but he doesn't really show jealous tendencies. He's even the first one to refer to Dazai as his ex-partner, but I think he still admires Dazai and his skills and clearly is willing to keep him out of mortal danger. Now Dazai on the other hand... I think he both admires and is a bit envious of how human Chuuya is, especially when they were kids. Now as an adult, I don't think Dazai is envious of Chuuya's humanity. Wasn't there like a mini canon story too about Valentine's day during their time in PM? I don't really remember, but I know there was one where Chuuya didn't receive any Valentine chocolates and it was said that either Dazai sabotaged that or no one gave Chuuya chocolates and Dazai was HAPPY about that. This could be just their usual spiteful rivalry and Dazai being gleeful that he won again, or could point to Dazai being jealous of the idea of Chuuya receiving chocolates from anyone else, so he was happy that no one did. He's the one that came up first with the jokes about making Chuuya his dog, then his maid and now still calls Chuuya his partner. Even admits that during the 4-year gap he still thought about Chuuya and of the ways to annoy him or how to get rid of him. He seems to have some possessive tendencies toward Chuuya which Chuuya doesn't have toward Dazai and possessive people are more prone toward jealousy. Does Dazai get along with anyone that likes Chuuya if you think about it? Chuuya gets along pretty well with a lot of people that know Dazai, even those that were romantically involved with Dazai. I just can't really see Chuuya being jealous when you take that into consideration - competitive yes, he can be spiteful too, but he doesn't strike me as a jealous type.

Yeah is like, both are human magnet. But Dazai is the flirtatious one ND that makes ppl think they can have opportunity. But Chuuya is not like Flirtatious it's only living. So people aren't Self-confidentare enough to approach, and that is why Chuuya is more admired from afar.

I adore this headcanon! I love seeing jelly Chuuya(not jelly toward Kunikida tho, I feel like they can be besties over their suffering at Dazai's hands) because most times I see jelly Dazai. My personal headcanon is that they dont care about sexual relationships, but are more serious about actual relationships. Considering they were in the mafia from a young age and 'honey traps' are quit common there and Dazai already has shown he doesnt care about sleeping with others for the sake of his plan, which was most likely soemthing he learned from the mafia. I find that he most likely doesnt think much about sex as anything but a tool and tends to take the position of top to have more control in those situations, except when he's with Chuuya because they have a 'relationship based on trust' making the act more intimate and actually meaningful. Chuuya I find would be somebody who also doesnt care as much but prefers to avoid them, because he prefers a meaningful bond first, which fits with Dazai. This is why personally I find Dazai being the obsessive jelly one whenever people who like Chuuya try to get a relationship with him with the goal of a romantic relationship. Because he feels threatened and sabotages those, those that are platonic he is soemwhat fine with. While Chuuya doenst get jealous over Dazai flirting and even sleeping with other woman, just annoyed, because he knows they mean nothing to Dazai and are just 'tools' tho he does feel sorry for the woman who fell for Dazai. But if it looks like Dazai is developing a close bond with any of them, the woman get overly clinging or they push for a relationship, he gets insanely jealous and does stuff, like showcasing their relationship to make the others back off and then in private makes sure Dazai knows who is his partner(by marking him up)

The two of them are incredibly attractive and also very jealous of each other, but Dazai stays quiet, staring at Chuuya with a demonic look and ignoring him for weeks, until he finally explodes and spends an hour talking about it. Chuuya just stands there looking pitiful, listening to the lecture because if he speaks up, it'll be another two hours of complaining. Meanwhile, Chuuya is more about taking action and going up to the person to demand an explanation for why they're declaring their feelings or flirting with HIS husband🎀

Dazai in the anime is portrayed as a charming womanizer who, although he is "usually" rejected when he tries to get women to commit suicide with him, is considered very capable of "charming" women. It's even mentioned that he has women STALKING HIM. Furthermore, it's often mentioned in the anime that Dazai is very attractive, so while Chuuya is attractive, he doesn't actively try to be, so he doesn't reach the same level of appeal as Dazai cuz' Dazai is simply the one who flirts and makes people think they have a chance. Chuuya is more about unattainable crushes. So yes, as a DAZAIMYMAN type of fan, it really bothers me that in fanfiction, Dazai isn't given the appropriate level of "attractiveness". Most of the ones I've read portray him as a weirdo that no one notices, and while he IS a weirdo, he's either one who hides it or is simply an attractive weirdo. (I'm not sure if I made myself clear because I don't speak English and I'm using a translator btw - but I mean that dazaimybeloved is "charming" in his actions, I'm not referring to "trying" in terms of appearance, Dazai doesn't try to look good but flirt, Chuuya tries to look good (he already is) but he doesn't flirt) Dazai and Skk Supremacy, by the way.

In fics, chu was shown as "human magnet" for several reasons...but I THINK Dazai's the one would fit this role more, just my opinion tho.
