Happy to Wander (Travel Tips & Inspo)

💬 If you could visit any Spring destination in Europe, which would you pick?

🙋🏻‍♀️ Hi!! It’s Christina here from HappyToWander.com, AKA that Canadian girl with the overly detailed travel videos. This week I published a roundup of my favourite places to visit in Europe during Spring time. In case you missed it, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=En15n...

🎉 PS: Sundays are my ‘community day’ so I promise to answer all comments here that are shared before the end of the day on Sundays... in whatever time zone I’m in - currently PST haha!

⬇️ Anyways, let me know which items are on your Spring bucket list and why!

Prague! The colors of the trees and flowers, let alone the houses, are simply spectacular and stunning.

Heidelberg and Schwetzingen Germany for all the spring flowers but mostly Spargel season. Spargel is white asparagus that is bigger, thicker and a little sweeter. They make an amazing soup called cream of Spargel soup. The season is short, Mid- late April- early June at best. Schwetzingen has the Brauhause across from the palace and the palace has a killer garden that is amazing any time of year but at its best mid spring. It is a hidden gem. We lived in Heidelberg for 4 years and loved the Schwetzingen gardens so much we bought the season passes and went nearly every weekend.

Currently doing a week in Verona and Venice. Good room-rates and a distinct lack of tourists. Happiness: being able to avoid high-season.

I want to go to Madrid this Spring only because I was just there in February and I already want to go back! We're going next January anyway!

I ticked London but I actually prefer the quaint English villages for that. Plus wandering through woods of bluebells. (Although Ireland is good for this too. And I've vaguely heard some whispers about Germany?) I can see cherry blossoms in quaint villages in Australia so don't feel the urge to travel to see this (although Japan has been whispering for a while). I wouldn't mind seeing the tulips in the Netherlands but I'm not a huge fan of tulips and even less a fan of crowds, so I'd try to pick some place off the beaten path if I ever got around to that. What I'd really like to see is the poppies in Tuscany but I've heard it's usually crowded and expensive, so I'm considering Romania instead - hear good things

I will be in Amsterdam on the 3rd week of April. Any tips on how to quickly visit the famous windmill Zaanse Schans and tulips garden in a budget? Going there solo for the first time. Im a bit nervous actually hahaha
