Mera, if no one has told you yet : You don’t owe anyone anything. None of us pay you to make content. Please shake yourself free from the feeling of obligation. It was our privilege to consume your media. Thank you for giving us so much of yourself. I hope you find joy in everything you pursue in place of kpop. If you ever return, I hope you do so due to passion not obligation 🖤

the kpop world is expanding exponentially and it’s definitely overwhelming. don’t feel obligated to keep up with anything beyond your groups or interests

I feel this. My relationship with kpop began with a slow hyperfixation for years, and now, it's slowly come to a casual, just enjoying the music, watching a video that pops up on my recs, but either than that, I'm no longer hungering and consuming content that gets released every other minute of the day. Mera I think you've built a wonderful kpop commentary channel. With your health and other situations going on in life, you've done a wonderful job! I too with a condition, find it hard to keep up with all the things I want to do only to realize right now is not the best time to do it all. I'll have to wait. Maybe for you it's not like that, but trying to do life while battling with it is difficult. You were the only kpop commentary channel I watched. Thank you for all the content you uploaded 💜 Wherever you decide to go from here, we understand. Take this channel in whichever direction you'd like — or leave it — it's all up to you

I really feel you, how the KPOP scene is become overwhelming and led to lack of motivation of doing a video (yes, I also experience it in this year). So yes, pls take your times and rest well until you will the energy!! ❤️🔥❣

i feel you ! i love kpop, and i love idols, but all of it, the fandom, the newcomers feels so overwhelming to me too, so take as much time as you need! and also, whatever path you decide to take with your videos, i will support it, because i love the way you write and bring life to every topic you cover. wish you the best during this well deserved break 💕

As pretty much everyone else has already mentioned, we viewers are honestly happy with just about anything you put on the table. What we're here for is the content that is born from your love and passion for whatever topic you're currently invested in as well as your enchanting narration skills, along with any other ideas you wish to share with us. Gaining traction in any community is a big deal and can be more than a little overwhelming, but just know that you are your own individual self and you have the right to stay true to your own vision, no matter what. Rest well and happy holidays!

The content I want to see is the one you're happy making, and no other. Take the time and distance you need. And take care.

Nothing fulfills oneself more than being at peace with your thoughts and emotions. Take all the time that you need and we'll be happy to know that once you've returned, you are actually doing well <3

I think someone else said it pretty well, "you don't owe anyone anything". I think you've already done us a huuuge service, and I can't ever thank you enough for your content. Ever. I can personally definitely at least see myself in that "shifting relationship with K-pop" state of mind, and even with YouTube. But I can definitely also empathize with the rest of the feelings you are having, given that I wouldn't ever assume that running a YouTube channel surrounding quite the category of "K-pop" - would be easy, nor that it won't ever feel completely smooth-sailing at times. I hope you the best, and hope you get the rest you need. YouTube is a hell of a place, and no one should be blamed for wanting to keep their eyes away from it, even just for a little bit. I've done this myself many times over the years and it's done me well. I can't imagine what kind of rest someone running a YouTube channel themselves, are gonna need.

ANY Mera video is a good video in my book. I don’t need it to be topical or current. If you had posted the TXT Eternally video yesterday I would have been just as blown away. Take the time you need, and we’ll see you when you’re back. 💜

I would love, love, love to see a channel dedicate to something outside of K-pop. Hearing you and your thoughts (about any topic) makes my day.

im interested in whatever ur interested in! your passion shows in what you write, and it’s that passion, no matter the topic, that makes me enjoy your content. so, please pursue whatever you feel drawn to. i hope the relaxed schedule does you well! i’ll be looking forward to whatever you decide to produce next :)

I have a more distant, relaxed interest in k-pop compared to others, and the reason I enjoyed your channel is that your content is interesting, you know what are you talking about and the way you talk about it. Your BTS songwriting analysis, your Psycho and Eternally analysis are among my fave videos, I could really tell that was something you enjoyed doing it. Keep doing what YOU love, we're here to enjoy it (and, given all the positive comments, you can be sure we do!). And honestly, don't feel pressured about talking about everything that's new. You could just keep analyzing BTS videos and I would be still super happy (I follow not many artists myself so I get that overwhelming feeling)!

It's okay to grow and like other things. I love your K-Pop stuff but honestly, I subscribed for your wit and your general personality. I'm happy to watch whatever you put out. From cool little edits to video essays on whatever you find interesting, music or not, what makes me want to watch the video is you! Upload whenever the hell you want and whatever the hell you want. Have a good holiday (if you celebrate) :)

I agree with you saying that kpop as a whole has become overwhelming. I also am taking my time away from it lately as a fan. I love you the quality videos you make. The in-depth analyses you post (I will never ever forget your “why you can never look away from Blackpink” video—I consider it one of the best piece of pop culture material I ever encountered inside and outside of academia). Take your time. Nothing is more important that one’s well-being and sense of fulfilment.

Sis by the quality of ur content I’d listen to you review toasters once a year and still be subscribed.

Your channel is one of the few accounts i trust on Kpop YouTube. Your editing is crisp and your voice is mellifluous. Keep going, I’ll watch your work

mera
Me again, one last time.
I want to be more transparent with you all before I disappear. I’m currently experiencing a shift in my relationship with kpop and YouTube. I love kpop and I love you guys, but the current kpop scene feels a bit overwhelming. I feel like I don’t know what’s going on when I make my videos. I get worried when I post because I’m convinced I’ve missed something huge, or that something I say could be taken out of context. I love talking about music and videos. I love talking to you guys. I just need some time to myself away from the scene. The short of it: I may only upload randomly for the time being. I may not be talking about current music or movements. I don’t want to disappoint you guys, since I already upload so rarely and so late, but I don’t want to give you guys forced content, either.
I’m also branching out into other interests, and I’ve been considering opening a second, smaller channel where I can post the videos and thoughts I don’t post here because they aren’t related to kpop. This would also be a relaxed, unscheduled space. I’ll take some time to think that over while I’m gone.
I think my relationship with YouTube has shifted. I think I need to just post the things I really want to post, and when I feel okay doing so. I’m not leaving YouTube, and I’m not abandoning kpop. I just need to really sit with myself for a while about what I want this channel to be.
Sorry for the long post, and I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season (for those who observe). I’ll post an edit here and there while I’m gone, but until I see you guys again for real, I hope you can understand where I’m coming from, and what I’m trying to say.
Thank you for another excellent year, and I’ll see you when I see you.
