Heyo, so I saw ‪@ChannelPup‬'s recent video about Sonic's model. And I agree with a lot of his points...except regarding the arms. The argument is that the lack of shoulders hinder the ability to pull of some poses. The models that DO pull this off are Boom and Movie Sonic, which gives him blue arms to make it look like they actually connect to his body. (And not awkwardly sprout out of his torso)

Though I think you CAN give him shoulders and make the tan arms work. The trick is to rework his torso and place the color separation appropriately. Now instead of a round/almond shape, his body is more boxy and has clear points of connection for the limbs. I know I'm not the first to draw Sonic this way, but these are my take on the design.

I understand that the color of the arms isn't that big of a deal (Movie Sonic made it work), but personally they're TOO ICONIC for me too give up. They help offset from all the blue in Sonic's design and add a charm that no other character has. If you've read this far, thank you for listening to me rant. And I hope you make better use of your time than stressing over minute details like I have. ✌🏼

(AGAIN, NO HATE TO ‪@ChannelPup‬! I LIKED HIS VIDEO AND THIS IS REALLY JUST MY WAY OF VENTING)

@pedrohcamargosilva

This concept looks really nice! I must admit, Sonic looking more lanky could've worked in recent games (if they're actually going with more serious stories). I'd have loved to see a more 06 looking Sonic in Frontiers.

I’d say the tan arms can work even if it were movie style. Just do what they did with the blue fur from his brow leading to his snout, where it transitions from blue to tan.

@Synergetic32X

interesting concept, I also like how you drew Sonic throwing his arms into the air
