The transparent world and selfless state are not separate abilities
So someone on dc brought this up to me, and it lwk makes sense. When Tanjiro describes dodging Akaza’s punch he notes that he was focused on nothing but dodging; this would inherently mean emotion is also second.
Furthermore, Akaza mentions a certain look in Tanjiro’s eyes when he describes the ability—the same thing Koku does with both Muichiro and Gyomei. Even Obanai mentions it as an ocular thing.
I discussed it with a friend on dc and we came to two separate interpretations: 1. If you get the transparent world you automatically enter the selfless state 2. It’s a scale; the deeper you go into the transparent world the closer you get to the selfless state. STW —> SS (like the final stage)
Either is valid but I’m leaning towards the former
