I read her book Thinking in Pictures when I was in teachers college, not knowing it was written about me too. It was the first time an autistic was able to explain autism from the inside, and it was more beautiful than anyone expected. She has done so much for our community but also in her field of animal behaviour. A genius, in my (biased!) opinion.

I was so lucky. I saw her speak live early on after my daughter was diagnosed. I had already read all of her work. I had chills and tears throughout the whole time. She is brilliant! Her mother, fought against Dr's when women didn't do that. Had she not this amazing lady would have been institutionalized. I just hope some of those men were alive to see what became of her.

Was pleasantly surprised when the movie followed her book really well then I found out she oversaw it's production. Such an incredible advocate

Reading the book, before her movie came out, was my first real connection to what was actually different about ME. I could never forget what she's done, for animals or for us π

I love the movie. It helped me accept and understand myself and some of my "strange" habits. She is truly one of those who has gone before the rest of us and opened doors to the neuro-typical community. Thank you for your efforts Temple - You are a hero to us autistics.

I was really emotional yesterday and kept thinking how everything in life feels like a closed door right now. This is interesting timing and I appreciate this β€ God bless her.

Mom on the Spectrum
I had the privilege of watching this documentary at the Wilderwood conference last year after speaking on stage with the legendary Dr. Temple Grandin, and was moved to tears. The amount of work she has done in paving the way for our community to be seen, validated, and understood is phenomenal. I encourage you to check this out on Apple TV or Amazon Prime. Dr. Grandin's selfless advocacy has won my utmost respect and appreciation.
