Thanks for the good watch, cyberpunk has been my favorite genre since I was young. It's what I grew up engaging with. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I remember how excited I was to see the Akira bike in 2077. While I own all the purchasable vehicles on all of my saves, this is by far my most used.

Might I suggest adding Psycho Pass. It's relatively new, but I believe it to be a must watch for fans of Cyberpunk. It's themes and messages about information, the justice system, and humanity is genuinely incredible.

Cyberpunk 2077 is of the best games I have played and Keanu Reeves character Johnny Silver hand like Johnny Depp's character Jack Sparrow is of the best authentic original character's ever.

I think the most obscure cyberpunk movie is Nirvana, featuring Christoph Lambert

Unrelated but there’s this French IDM/EBM-Tekno artist ‘Gesaffelstein’ who recently announced an album trailer "GAMMA" which features heavy Cyberpunk 2077 references or perhaps even Ghost In The Shell. As the intro of Motoko’s shell creation is strikingly similar. Technology, body modifications, borderline French bourgeoisie, etc… Reminded me of the prestige higher echelons of Arasaka and other factions in night city.

Man when it comes to Akira I hate when people compare the manga to the movie... People just shit all over the film when Guess what? Both the manga and movie are from the same guy... Katsuhiro Otomo created AKIRA and got to work directing a film adaption for it because he also is a screen writer and director 🤷🏻♀️ YES the manga is always going to be better and this is due to the films budget or something typical like that, Also if I remember correctly for whatever reason it was decided to make the film while his own manga was just beginning to get published So he really did shoot himself in the foot there and to me that's pretty much why people will shit on the movie while singing high praises towards the manga since It's able to tell you bits of the story that unfortunately had to be cut out from the film

Thanks for watching Cyberpunk 101 Episode #1! (If you haven't seen it, go watch choom)
Episode #2 is all about AKIRA, another classic Japanese Cyberpunk entry 🔥
I recently finished reading the complete manga and rewatched the movie to compare them. Stay tuned for the complete history, lore, characters, analysis and a new segment highlighting all the references in 2077!
