Martyn Iles

The most flagrant vulgarities and rebellions are very often by those who were once very close to the kingdom of God.

Consider, Nebuchadnezzar’s golden idol to which the nations had to bow down—a direct rebellion against the word God recently spoke to him that his “kingdom of Gold” was inferior to God’s reign.

Consider, the proliferation of rabidly anti-Christ activists in politics, especially the LGBT movement, who grew up “Christian.” This was one of the most startling revelations of my time in politics.

Consider, Kanye West . . . From “Jesus is King” to . . .

If God has spoken to you, do not trifle with him. A silenced word from God is a devils playground.

“Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it” (Hebrews 2:1).

Amen. We need to listen to God and keep seeking him, to know and follow Jesus better, to trust him more. Nowadays there are so many deceivers, we need to be really alert.

Thank you for this reminder. It is the believer whom Satan delights in snatching from Christ. He does it through our pride, as he has done from the beginning with his nefarious mission in the garden of Eden.

Same for Nadab and Abihu…once as close to God’s presence as possible without being Moses, but killed on the spot for disobedience due to their strange fire.

In Mark 8 ,Jesus' disciples had witnessed many miracles, yet they did not understand his warning to beware of the leven of the Pharisees. When they asked Jesus why they had not understood, He said it is because your hearts are hardened. A hard heart makes decisions from an earthly perspective instead of a heavenly pespective. The Bible instructs us in James to resist the devil by humbling ourselves before God and the devil will flee. In the Bible, the believer's attitude matters. Without repentence, a wrong attitude will always lead to disaster. There are many examples of this in Scripture, eg Cain in the OT and Judas in the NT

I have been a Christian a long time but I do know one thing the devil loves it when we stumble and fall back into sin .I do also feel sorry for some pastors who fall from grace because there head gets turned by many different thing money power and in some cases fame .when jesus cried out father forgive them for thay dont know what thay are doing. Is because even the so called leaders of his day tought thay have got this and look at us where jesus said I have got you you have all gone a stray and I am your shepard and his sheep know his name sometimes we are just plain dumb sheep who just seem to think the funs over there let's go over there and party not realising there dangers waiting to pick us all off We just have to say lord let us become humble just like you where
