I was in Kentucky when Prince passed. It snowed so heavy that day. Grabbed the camera and filmed it fall through the trees and played "Sometimes it Snows in April" in the background. A beautiful moment to remember him by. Never got to see him or D'Angelo perform live. There's a LOT of artists I never got to see and it hurts. Cause now I'll never get that chance. And others won't either. It's a void that will never be filled. HOWEVER, we have their catalog and the memories of how their artistry makes us feel. And we can honor that by keeping that energy alive and circulating so it can inspire the next artist that will change the world.

Yeah as a grown man who never met them I feel kinda weird when I get so emotional about my beloved musicians when they pass. it’s both knowing that there is not going to be anymore of the things they made that made my life enjoyable and the death of the idea that one day maybe I could tell them how much I loved their work or even share some music with them that they influenced. It’s hard to not hold on too tight to the good stuff but it doesn’t really do anything to help.

Loss is cumulative. The feeling isn’t for the one person it’s for all of the people you hold in your heart.

I was patiently anticipating any new music from him, whenever it dropped: his art always resonates.🎶❤

It’s ok to be sad. Loved your D’Angelo vids. You clearly cared.

I understand. I, along with many people here, get that feeling while listening to his/their music too.

Yes indeed. It hurts lots when people whose music touches our heart are no longer with us. Take good care, Dywane, thinking of you. 💞
