Did you see AhsokaOnEarth’s previous Halo video? I’ve never been into Halo but I was pleasantly entertained by the gameplay and her enthusiasm. We chatted about it and I was bombed with a bunch of Halo lore and I’m actually considering on playing it someday.😂 But I did attempt to wheedle some Lotr influence. Hopefully she’ll get to that and enjoy it.

Gems! I has a question for thee! Hem hem. Are you into classical music at all? I was musing to a tad of Yo Yo Ma, and then, unbeknownst to me, another song of unknown origin came on. I let it play for a moment, having in mind to switch the song. But I halted, for I was entranced! I was captured by the sounds of wonder! “What is it?! What is it?!” you say, the suspense leaving you on the edge of your seat. Huzzah! ‘Twas none other than an unbelievable piece of art! ‘Twas called Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams. The video was performed by the Philharmonic Orchestra. It is an absolutely beautiful piece. It’s full of so many emotions and feelings. There’s a sense of wonder, awe, danger, sadness, mystery, adventure all in one. It feels like the journey in discovering a new world. And then I realized I had heard this piece before! I knew it must’ve been from a movie and behold! After searching about it, I discovered that there’s a brief moment in the movie Master and Commander: the far side of the world, where they play it as a man overboard is lost to sea, yet his loss saves the ship. Whoever selected that song for the scene was a genius, because all those feeling the song expresses really encapsulates the scene. (It also reminds me a bit of the song “Death of Ase” by Edvard Grieg, in his Peer Gynt.) Thought I’d share this little adventure I took. 😂
