Yep, Angela my dog Nelly is always aware of our surroundings. Very few times she doesn't know when some on is near us on walks. I got bit by a neighbor that had 3 dogs on leash. One broke free and made a beeline for Nelly. All was good. I went to ER for shots. She was freaked out on walks after that. Shes good now. She knows I'll protect her. She does the same. Same with cats. Mine can definitely tell me by the way the hiss and growl. An to be honest on this post I even pay attention to the human food that Oscar begs for and the stuff he walks away from. Makes me question what we’re indigesting
