I have a lot of content on the way covering the 311” cubic inch small block Chevy ripper I’m building for my nostalgia front engine dragster. The build is being covered in detail and is coming along quite well! Stay tuned…

Always liked them small cube high rpm SBCs. Built quite a few myself.

After doing this to a big block, the 311 looks adorable even though it’s still a decent size for an engine.

What's the block casting number? I remember reading about what I thought was a 283 block that could be punched way over because of thicker cyl walls and if I remember correctly it was a one or two yr only block and it made mention of large plugs in the timing area. This was over twenty yrs ago and my memory is fuzzy but I'm wanting to say it was an early 60s, 64 maybe and maybe chevy 2 application.
