Will Goodlet

Hello good people of Youtube!
I'm trying to plan what kind of videos to make and would value your thoughts. Do you have a topic you would like to see covered? A problem? A destination you're interested in? A decision to make or a question?

Please let me know!

@ericaceous1652

I always click on and fully watch your videos Will, because I appreciate the images you capture and your nuanced commentary. I confess that my favourite videos of yours are those where you're on trips yourself, showing us your journey, the animals you find, and your musings as you go. Appreciate that these videos are likely costly and time consuming to make! There are plenty of photogs/videogs on YouTube hacking out gear reviews and rehashing the exposure triangle - not that there's anything wrong with that as such, but it's samey. Your vids feel different, which is why I enjoy them. Maybe, if you have them, you could take us through some "war stories" of memorable shots and encounters? I'm sorry if this comment wasn't that helpful 😅 but you seem like a really sound chap and I always enjoy watching your videos. Cheer

You already have one comment on ‘how Will gets the shots/sequence and the process’ I’d always be on for that content. But the key content is you, in the field, reacting to what you see and love. Your passion for Africa combined with your narrative skill, are what makes you truly unique. As much of that as possible though clearly those are the videos that will take the most time and effort (hopefully they also bring you the most joy). Your Canon specific content is less useful to me, but I guess some people will be hugely interested in that. Your Astro photography videos are also great - I seem to think you tend to put these as ‘chapters’ within wider content - but learning from you in that skill would be appreciated. And don’t underestimate our interest in a bit of your back story. Your choice in whether that is a video in and of itself or woven in to the wider context. How did you learn about Africa and its wildlife? Perhaps that could be set within ‘Will’s guide to Southern Africa’

Hey Will, I always enjoy your content and especially your trips to the KTP and KNP. Those trips are my highlights and I would love to see even more of the. For me it would be really interesting to see the different seasons and there impact on wildlife (photography) in those parks. I know thats a massive work but maybe you can recycle some older video parts for such an overview. A video about Mana pools would be awesome but probably hard to reach. One more topic could be the trip planning for more remote places in Zambia/ southern Botswana from an overseas tourist perspective. There is content for Overlanders (mainly from SA) and lodge content, but few information for self drivers with car rentals. Unluckily all the requested topics probably won't bring a lot of new viewers. Most searched content is probably tech reviews. But probably most of your loyal/active followers are not here because of those ;-) Best Regards and keep on with the great work

I enjoy all your content from your gear info to your travels through the parks.. theres so many different camera and lense reviews out there allready that would just be repetitive.. I always look to see if you have new posts..I'm South African and live overseas now..I miss Kruger and the parks so really enjoy your adventures and thoroughly enjoy listening to you talk.. you should tell more stories I bet you have some interesting ones! Keep up your good work, its beautiful and helps us preserve the land and animals that are so valuable.

Love watching your videos and listening to the commentaries. Prefer 'out and about' ones to cameras/settings. Just love to see where you travel and what you see, because I am never going to get there myself! Would love to see more of the big cats but maybe that is too big an ask!

Hello Will! Hope you and your family are well. It is good to hear you are thinking of doing more of what you love. We enjoy the videos of the Parks as tools to plan our future trip to SA while we are in a "holding pattern" for being able to do lengthy travel. We would probably have two or so months north/east SA.... we were thinking of a few days in Petoria, renting a vehicle for a loop drive to Pilansberg, Markele, Mapungubwa, Kruger (3 weeks), Umkuze, St Lucia/ Hluhkuwa, Richards Bay, and back to Joberg. Birds, Animals, Nature, and culture would be our objectives. We are on a budget so no fancy game parks. Thoughts? Wanna come with? Looking forward to whatever inspires you next. Jonathan and Tammie

Fully agree with previous comment. Really like your videos as they are. You could add a new location, species not previously covered or tips on safari packing and etiquette

I think you're best videos are you driving trough nature taking us to the beauty of Africa's nature. On location videos of you showing us those clips. There is nobody out there that makes better wildlife photography videos as you do. They are so enjoyable to watch and take me back to Africa everytime I watch them. And I know I'm not only speaking for myself. Just be yourself and do what you love to do the most then ik sure we will enjoy it to. If it's keeps you interested then I'm sure it ain't gonna be b shit for us. Grt guido

Hello Will, I know you asked this question about content a good while back. I hope it is ok to still add an answer. I would very much enjoy more of your personal musings and philosophy regarding us as humans in nature. The way you encourage the capturing and relaying of a fundamentally personal experience via your channel is most inspiring (to me). *** Thank you ***

Hey, thank you for all your videos. We love it. Best time of the year/season for photo safaris and what parks you’d recommend? We’re doing Kruger in September.

Will, would love your opinions on how to select footage for videos, best duration times, key words, hashtags etc etc. Photography wise how to select good images, close up, wide angle. How to market images, best places to do this. Keep up the good work, as well

@ForrestWest

We always enjoy your videos Will! They are very well produced with pleasant music and beautiful wildlife. Maybe you could share some information about what's involved and what to expect if people come down for a safari. What time of year is good and what to look for in the tours. Also information about how you're putting together video clips and photos and adjusting them for your YouTube videos. Possibly information about choosing between driving in Parks yourself or in a tour vehicle where your higher above the ground. You've probably already shared a good bit of this information in past videos. Just watching your day as you go through the park and encounter wildlife and show us what it is like is very enjoyable! Best of luck to you!

I like watching your out in the field videos. I'm not one who likes watching people at their desks talking about photography or processing images.

Hi Will nobody seems to be doing this but I would be interested seeing how you would put a short video together from start to finish, I have lots of clips from holidays and Safaris etc but don't do anything with them.
