@ronsanderson99

I started in 1990 with an old Trek suspensionless bike with a big frame and fat tires. You had to love biking to ride that thing!

I was playing ⚽ football for my whole life. With 28 ACL injury. After that football was not possible at the same level again. With 29 years I started to drive xc MTB to help my knee and directly felt in love with jumping instead of long rides. Bought myself a dirt jump bike which heal my knee ,my worries and I found my joy back! Then a full suspension Bikepark bike followed with amazing trips to the local Bikeparks like Willingen winterberg Olpe and greenhill. With 33 years my boys needed me on the pitch again and I helped them out for the last 6 games of the season and this without pain!!! I was not doing any extra training for my knee. Just riding MTB and dirt jump!! Now I'm 35 and I can enjoy MTB and football ⚽ again! I just feel like back in the days being a kid!!! Thank you bicycle 🚲

@SpokesmanMTB

50 years. Not kidding. Started out before they were mountain bikes. I was riding my Schwinn sprint in the hills around San Jose California.

First mountain bike bought in 1988 after I quit BMX racing. The idea of "big" wheels to go over things like rocks and logs plus gears to get up hills and ride for miles was so new and interesting.

Just a note of Thanks for your videos. I watch them riding my stationary bike and it's like I am on location. Like your commentary too. Well done. Glen

Got my first MTB when I was seven years old. That was in 1984. I've been riding since I was two. I'm forty-six.

Started on a Giant Raineer hardtail in 2003. Moved on to a Specialzed XC FSR, then to a Chumba EVO, an Ibis Mojo SL, an Ibis Ripmo, and current Ibis Ripmo V2S. Now I have 4 bikes and ride multiple disciplines. Bikes and riding bring me so much joy in life.

I bought my first (as an adult) mountain bike back in 2011 (Specialized Hardrock Sport) but didn't start riding regularly until spring of 2019 on that same old bike. In spring of 2022, I bought my first full squish trail bike (Polygon Siskiu T7) and my progression has exploded since. 🤘

17 years now, first 10 years riding purely XC, and now more trail & bikepark. I don't think I will ever stop riding.

My husband and I got into MTB when we were 37. I'm 56 now and I'm fitter and stronger NOW! Nobody will mistake me for Remy or you, but my skills are better lately. Keep riding (and keep training... It really is use use it or lose it)

About 6 but not long enough. Love at first ride. I rode 1 day in Sedona in 2002 and loved it but didn’t know where to ride or anything about bikes after the trip

Since 1987, so 30+ years. Seen it all, tried much of it!

Hard to say. I mountain biked in the 90's in Colorado while I was a bike messenger in Denver. Moved and stopped biking until the pandemic and picked up mountain biking as well as downhill since the roads in Jersey are nugging futs.
