Cry a little reading youtube offer...We are exactly attwo year mark of my fiance's stroke. Our tips: diet: non fake olive oil/avocados/pasture raised egg yolks for brain rewire! Cut out ALL bad fats! Sensible diet, exercise (strength training), anything even to help w mood/helps to build, DO something! We did a LOT of beach trips that first year. Takes a bite out of neuro-fatigue, depression. Last thing have a fearless advocate at your side! I did not think we would make it the first year, he relearned eating pooping walking. Today he drives! Rewards are slow but they come. Never give up 🎯 Get a CAC test (cheap) because there are likely more arterial/heart blockages in progress! If you are able get off/reduce some of the medications. Statins will rob your calcium stores and your muscles will atrophy sooner like an old man. Peace

Tip: do the therapy exercises twice a day, everyday between sessions and once a week do ALL of the exercises once through. Yes you have moved on to more complicated skills but basics are your foundation. Also ask about e-stim, keep advocating for yourself. I am 12 years post 4 strokes - work it like a job.

Living alone is extremely lonely. But having an independent streak helps. I eat very little in amounts of food as well as selections in choices. Intermittent fasting has worked for me along with supplements instead of medications.

Never say, ‘my stroke’. The stroke affected (my body). that stroke is not yours, the body is.

Here is my report, maybe it will help someone. A little over three years ago I suffered a stroke (right thalamus). I was immediately taken to the hospital in Passau, but apart from a CT scan and an MRI scan, nothing else was done. I then stayed in the hospital for a week for observation, but the various neurologists couldn't help me either. I had problems coordinating the left side of my body, problems walking, and gripping with my left hand was a bit difficult. All of this happened during the Corona period and a therapy place was simply not available. I then looked for instructions on how to deal with this impairment and found your website. For three years now, I have been doing your seven exercises every day, I also train my left arm with light weights and walk 10,000 steps every day. My dear wife is Italian and we eat a Mediterranean, low-salt diet. I try to coordinate my daily routine as normally as possible and have actually regained all of my abilities. I could actually be happy, but I still have a very weather-dependent nausea that is very disturbing. I have trouble concentrating and unfortunately I can't continue with the two book projects that I've left behind. I work every day to improve my situation and hope for further recovery.
