It officially ended June 2002 with Vince's "RRRRRRRUTHLESS AGGRESSION" promo on Raw.

I feel it ended when Stone Cold became inactive/semi active around after WrestleMania X8, when the draft took place and the raw set changed etc. Austin was the attitude era.

Technically in May of 2002 even though the product felt different in the later part of 2001 into 2002.

The literal answer is May 6th 2002. This was the first time where the Attitude Signature intro was no longer being used, the camera crew were no longer wearing the WWF Attitude shirts (yes, they were wearing them from WM X7 till May 2002), the WWF Attitude sign in the arena was removed and WWE still acknowledged things that happened after WrestleMania X7 to be part of the Attitude Era. For example: A remix of The Rock's "If You Smell" theme which was released in 2002 is included in the album "WWE: Anthology - The Attitude Era, Vol.2". Even freakin' Wikipedia says the Attitude Era lasted '97-'02. What more proof can you give?

March 2002, right before the first draft took place. WWE changed drastically starting from that point. Austin's double turn at WM17 and the end of the Monday Night Wars were just that, the BEGINNING of the end; that's what some people don't get. It didn't just die overnight. It was the same production throughout 2001/early 2002 until April 2002 when the look and format of the show completely changed: -New Undisputed Heavyweight belt and the ambolishment of two known Attitude era belts: European & Hardcore -New entrance stage for RAW and shows like Jakked, Metal, Attitude, and Exxess were replaced by new shows Velocity, Afterburn, Confidential, and Bottomline -Stone Cold and The Rock (two main superstars who made up the Attitude era what it was) were seeing their last days as full-time wrestlers in early 2002 -New company name (WWF to WWE); this one was pure coincidence but perfect timing -New Superstars like Orton, Batista, Lesnar, and Cena all debuted around the same time once the draft took place -Repeated mention on WWF television of the draft "ending an era" during the last week before the first draft took place -WWE themselves mentioning events that happened between April 2001-March 2002 as part of the Attitude era through their website, video games, etc further cements the opinion

Always felt the Monday night war ended in 2001 but The content was still Attitude to me in 2002 least through Wrestlemania 18 but wasn’t at the height like 98/99 , more like what’s left/changing into a new era (Ruthless Aggression)

Vengeance 2001. When Jericho became the first Undisputed Champion. After that night people realized WWE was heading in a new direction, and that the entire company’s landscape was about to change.

I say when the brand split happened. That was the end of the attitude era because after mania/ through mania x8 had some attitude like the feud with angle/austin, hardcore title bouts like hardy vs rvd, mania x8, taker rvd, angle vs shane at king of the ring. Rock vs hogan.

Probably for me when Shane went on WCW, I knew things where going down hill then. But at least we got to see Brock the legit badass. Would love too see Haku vs Brock.

2002. Loom at the show and the roster at the beginning of that year, then look at the show and the roster at the end of the year. It's like two different time periods happening in one year.

Summerslam 2002 is a contender. When Brock beat Rock, felt like a milestone changing of the times.

I hope the people that still think the AE ended at WM17 know they're objectively wrong. Even the WWE itself has acknowledged the AE didn't end until 2002 so can this lie finally stop please?

Wrestlemania 19. The ruthless aggression era was well underway prior to that but Stone cold vs Rock III truly marked the end of the attitude era in my opinion

When Vince McMahon cut the “Ruthless Aggression” promo on June 24th 2002

The attitude era was born with the goal of beating wcw in Monday night ratings. When the wwf bought the competition in March 2001, that was the end of the attitude era.
