We first discovered Starcadian in 2013, like many others, through his music video for He^Rt. We were instantly hooked and immediately inspired. We frequently listened to and talked about his music, often referencing it directly when working on our own. While our collaboration with him wouldn’t happen until much later, it’s no exaggeration to say that George’s work deeply influenced ours, especially in the early days.

When we finally reached out to him during the pandemic, we learned that we had been mutually appreciating each other’s work for years, both hoping to one day collaborate. That collaboration eventually happened, and it was wonderful. Not long after that, when the world began to open up again, we finally met in person. He had a big personality—charming, outgoing, kind, and full of stories. He also had no time for nonsense and wasn’t afraid to speak his mind when something wasn’t right. We became instant friends.

Fortunately for us, we got to see him occasionally while touring through NYC. We tried, unsuccessfully, to convince him to tour with us, but life on the road just wasn’t his thing. In the meantime, we kept in touch online, and he’d tease us with sneak peeks of his new music. He was always toying with the idea of another collaboration, as recently as a few weeks ago.

Then we found out about the accident, along with everyone else. At first it was just a rumor, but then our worst fears were confirmed. It honestly still doesn’t feel real. We can’t imagine the pain his close friends and family are going through, and our hearts are with them.

We’ll be listening to his music, remembering the short time we had together, and appreciating the fact that his creative spirit will live on through the inspiration he gave so many.

Thank you for everything, George. We’ll miss you, buddy.

His remix of Have You Heard and work on Polygon were next level. I hope his family friends are going through this as best they can. May his music continue to play across the star lanes for eternity 🌌

Just now seeing this. Polygon is one of my favorites and the first time I heard about him. Went to check his discography sometime after and was nothing short of amazed at his talent. Truly a legend that’ll be missed. I really can’t believe it as I’m typing this, but RIP.

New Cydonia might be my favorite song ever. It calms me in the worst of times. I'll have to listen to it now, because I feel awful.

Oh my god, this is devastating, he made absolutely stellar music and will undoubtedly be remembered as a master of his craft and a total visionary. Starcadian was and still is a huge inspiration to me today in everything I create, his retro sci-fi vibes are unmatched, point blank, and I encourage everyone that sees this to seek out and listen to his discography, especially Midnight Signals and Sunset Blood, though Radio Galaxy is also amazing in it's own way. R.I.P Starcadian, rest easy in cyberspace.

I was listening to Midnight Signals when I read the news and I was heart broken. You guys’ collab with Polygon is one of my all-time favorite songs and is what introduced me to Starcadian. Thank you for introducing me to such an amazing artist, and thank you Starcadian for giving us such incredible music because when I don’t know what to listen to I always listen to you.

I will forever be grateful for the music he gave us, but right now I can't help from feeling crushed that the beauty he had yet to bring to the world was taken. I hope he finds peace and knows how much his work touched my heart and soul. Rest well Starcadian

We’re all gonna miss him :( I had heard of Starcadian before you guys collaborated, but didn’t listen to his music until I heard you guys were collaborating on Polygon. I’ve listened through Radio Galaxy straight through so many times. I love that album, I love the remix of Have You Heard, and now that I’m going back and listening to his other stuff, I cannot believe I hadn’t listened to it. Thinking of his you guys, his family, and friends. Such a sudden loss is so hard. Much love 💜

Starcardian’s music always felt like he was making it for me specifically. I have so much of his stuff on my repeat playlists… I had hoped that at some point the stars would align and I’d get to see him in concert somewhere. I’m heartbroken; what an enormous loss for all of us. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

With the upmost respect, rest in peace. He brought more than enough joy in the waking world with his sound, peace is the least we can hope for.
