#Curiosity Seen recently not by me but by many people in this area (Vienna and surroundings) This is Emil the moose. In German, moose = elch which explains why he’s been christened Emil. Emil Elch works well in German.

Anyways, moose are not common in these parts. They’re found in Northern Europe. This guy apparently has been going walkabout: he’s from Poland and has wound his way across Poland through the Czech Republic, into Austria. He’s friendly and seems unconcerned about his celebrity. He even swam across the Danube which is crazy. I didn’t realize moose are such strong swimmers. They are. Also, they are solitary creatures.

Here’s to Emil, all his moose compadres and their swimming superpowers.

Emil looks like a youngster Moose, perhaps he traveled far on his own. Hopefully will be safe wherever he goes!

Moose are comfortable swimming and can even dive for marine plants to eat. It's the reason killer whales are listed as one of their predators.

Se mira algo juvenil de repente en el camino perdió el rumbo de la manada, bueno pero ahora lo realmente importante es que lo reubiquen respetando en todo momento su libertad, gracias por hacerlo

where I live the younger moose end up walking around confused in the town center cause they've been chased away by an adult male and have to find a new area of their own.
