Maybe you can try to do the following. First click on the profile picture, then click "View channel", then click the three dots at the top right, after that click "Hide user from my channel". I hope this might have helped. Speaking of which, were they commenting on your posts/shorts/longforms? The "Hide user from my channel" setting only hides them on the comments section of community posts, shorts and longforms.
