@ddhartma

Absolutely! Vinyl is the only way to listen to music (especially music from the 60s and 70s). There is a warmth in the sound from Vinyl missing in our digital age.

Absolutely yes

You should do Genesis or Phil Collins blind listen. You want to hear some amazing unrequited love songs and even better drumming as that is mostly what Phil Collins is known for. Actually he can play all instruments which makes for some amazing compositions. Love your videos.

Definitely play on a turntable and hear these great songs like we did.The first album you should listen to is Boston the first album. At one point I had nearly 500 albums at one point, nothing like my bandmate who had close to 1000.

YES! Get Yourself MEDDLE by Pink Floyd. Rick Beato says that the recording quality back in '71 was incredible - specifically he was talking about songs from this album AT THE TIME! So yes get an old version not a remastered version if possible, would be my advice!

Yes, you should - if not for the quality, but because it is the original medium. You can experience it like we did back in the day. :) I just found you and boy, did I need this. I am an American diplomat at a post in Africa and we are currently down to minimum staffing due to the country breaking out in civil war so I am very isolated. Finding your channel has really helped get through this time. I wonder if you'd consider listening to some 70/80's female-led rock groups - The Pretenders, Heart, Pat Benatar? I'd also love to hear your take on California Dreamin' by the Mamas and the Papas. Keep it up and thanks!!

Europe ‘72, Graceland, and Downward Spiral would be good places to start.

Back in the day we used Steely Dan albums to test how good our stereo systems were. If you don't know Steely Dan, the Aja album would be a great first step into their catalog.

I think you should do a video of an old artist or group weekly. You will find it will help producing music, opening you up to more ideas. It will also help your channel. You will find more coherent ideas with purpose.

@1250ships

As someone suggested Phil Collin’s first solo album, Face Value. Or Jackson Brown’s self titled first LP.

With all due respect my young friend, I think you have a little more living to do to fully appreciate the innovative and highly influential production techniques and sound design of the album, the brilliantly poetic and philosophical lyrics, the stellar musicianship (guitarist David Gilmour is counted among the greatest to ever pick up the instrument), and the fact that this was put out in 1973 some 52 years ago, and it still sounds like it could have been recorded last year. Folks didn't even have the stereo equipment necessary to listen to it properly back then the way it was meant to be heard. That's how far ahead of its time it was. Do yourself a favor and check back in with it in about 5 or 6 years. Don't worry, the time will go by fast. You have no idea how fast. "And then one day you'll find 10 years I've got behind you - No one told you when to run, You missed the starting gun." - Pink Floyd, "Time"
