Ten years ago, I was shooting recipes on top of a dog cage with a grow light and poster board I pulled from the trash - because I wanted to play with the new DSLR I got for Christmas.
Five years ago, I was shooting recipes using flooring samples that I dug out of a client's literal dumpster - in the dark, during a snowstorm - because I wanted better backdrops for my food.
One year ago, I made the scary leap to quit my day job to pursue my dream full time - because I knew that my creative passion was my key to living out the life I have always envisioned for myself and husband and our dogs.
Today, I could not be more grateful for the last ten years - for every night and weekend I stayed home to work on this dream; for the blood, sweat and tears I have put into this career that started as a college homework assignment; for fighting the doubt and pushing through every algorithm change - all because I knew there would be a day that I looked back and said, "I can cook that."
So I did.
To whatever the next year holds; and the next five and ten - I'm ready to face it head on. As this year draws to a close, I'm thankful for all the Hungry People - like you - who continue to support this dream of mine and allow me to do what I was meant to do: make delicious content. Afterall, this is just the beginning - and I can't wait to see what's next ✨
