even though the first one is significantly lower quality, I feel like this is a trick question

I have a feeling this is related to people trying to tell you that your prices are unreasonable (as you are the creator of one of these suits lol). I personally suspect that you make barely any money off your suits at the end of the day after paying for taxes, material, and your living expenses. I saw another maker summarize their yearly income since they recently did their taxes, and they make the same amount per year that I do at my poorly-paying full time job, only they're working dramatically harder with more hours and more physical work than my job AND they have to track their own expenses and taxes (and they didn't pay in quarterly so they had to pay a fine for paying all at once at the end of the year, but that's a US thing). I've noticed a pattern that the people primarily complaining about fursuit prices are children that are upset that they can't get their parents to spend between 3k and 7k on a suit because they don't understand the value of money or the value of skill/labor. They feel that fursuit making should be charity work and it should be affordable because they want one, and no other reason. Unfortunately, the way our society is structured, people need money to live, and a fursuit is not a necessity, and you're not cruel for "withholding" one from them.

man, can you imagine if a school commissioned an actual fursuit maker to make a mascot costume? we might actually have less people growing up afraid of mascot costumes.

Personally I would pay more for the second one in general because the craftsmanship is remarkably better and it also just looks so much better :p

I guarantee the school style mascot costs 2-3 times more than a much higher quality fursuit. My son's high school payed close to 10k for a very low quality "bobcat" mascot that constantly needs to be sent back for repairs.

refashioned hippie has taught me the absurdity of pricing. So I'm betting option 1 to be the more expensive one.

Second. Because of the time and effort put into it. It's one of a kind and cannot be copied even if you try hard it is a personal thing and not just a mascot suit and costs a lot for the person to make up to 500+, and takes weeks to months! The one you made Is beautiful and deserves to be high priced and the ppl that say it's "overpriced" are children that haven't EVER tried to make something as complicated and cool!

I've seen "suits" like the first one in real life (school mascots most often) that are 10k and more; while I don't know the average cost for yours, they're most definitely more worthy for a price close/ equivalent to that

Maybe this is just me, but I feel like Mugiwaras prices are pretty damn low. I remember seeing a video abt how much a fullsuit commission might cost around, and thinking I messed up the currency exchange calculations bc it just seemed too cheap.

I feel like the second would cost more, based on the larger tail and digitigrade padding needing more time and materials

I think one is a very well made fursuit that would be personnal and with a price that reflects a private commissionner And the other is mascot work or similar for an organisation and would be more expensive because it was commissionned to serve a professional function But it's just my opinion

I feel like the first is worth more because it has a really unique and detailed expression that probably took a lot more effort, not to mention the muscles Ik usually suits with those kinds of added detail cost more bc of the effort
