Warner bros is a dogshit company and I’m glad they’re forced to sell their assets.

I know it will never happen, but I’d love for Koei Tecmo to aquire MK and have Team Ninja develop it. I think DOA was an amazing 3D FG despite kind of being goonerbait, and that system plus MK’s appeal would be very approachable and great competition to the only modern 3D fighter, which is Tekken 8 (which is in a horrible spot). Not to mention they can obviously make the gorier elements work since they also developed Ninja Gaiden.

I’m concerned about MK being in good hands. I’m not surprised that WBD would eventually go on sale given that issues over there, I’m just shocked that it happened so soon.

It’s looking like Paramount is adamant to absorb WB, which would be awful from a monopoly standpoint, but also having the Ellisons control most of the media landscape. Remember that CNN is under WB.

Question for everyone here who would you want to buy Mortal Kombat?

Hopefully, any potential buyers actually see the value of the video games division of WB and doesn’t just dissolve it. But if we are talking about dream development team type shit, then I'd say Iron Galaxy could make a good Mortal Kombat game. Something that still feels like Mortal Kombat but priorities gameplay. Edit: As far as I can tell, this is a package deal, so it's very concerning to think some potential buyer might just be interested in the streaming rights of their content and not give a damn about video games, but will gladly sit on IPs. This could potentially be the death of Mortal Kombat.
