The next Castlevania video is coming soon, tracing the moment Dracula was truly born… and the moment he finally ends. Just to get a gauge, which game was your first Castlevania?

Simon’s Quest. Never understood that game as a kid in the 90’s but I did eventually beat it as an adult (with a guide of course. That game is cryptic af)

My first was the Simon’s Quest on NES in 1989. I love the Ds games and just played DoS for the first time again in 20 years.

Symphony was my first and still the best. My parents got it for me without knowing what it is back in 98

Castlevania was my first introduction to the series. My parents got us kids a brand new Nintendo Entertainment System, and someone my dad worked with got us Castlevania as well. I remember finally beating Dracula after losing to him so many times. In Simons Quest, my dad actually figured out that you had to kneal at that dead end with the red crystal for the tornado to take you to the next area, and we were able to beat CV2 after probably 3 or 4 days of just walking around. Mind you play time back then was only a few hours max. My dad eventually lost interest in games as I got older.

I'm 40 now and was lucky enough to grow up with the NES. My first Castlevania was the first one. I never got to play any others until Symphony of the Night on my PSX.

The first one I ever played was Simon's Quest at some point in 1989. My neighbor up the street from me was about 2 or 3 years older, and would let me come over basically whenever i wanted. He had an AWESOME collection at that point.

The Gameboy Castlevania games introduced me to the franchise and by the time Symphony Of The Night arrived on the PS1, it became my favorite videogame franchise of all time

Symphony of the night. An amazing first introduction so many things they did right with that game from the massive amount of weapons and armor to the secrets and hidden gems . Sound track…(chefs kiss 💋) story and voice acting live rent free between my ear

Circle of the moon. Most underrated, janky and truly dark.

Well, believe it or not, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest was my first true Castlevania game I have ever played. Since then, this gaming series not just helped me sharped my skills, but it also did one other thing mentally, showing no fear towards monsters in all its forms, especially vampires, werewolves, green skinned ogres and even kaiju.

Simon's Quest, but Symphony of the Night is the reason why I stayed with the series.

Dawn of Sorrow was my first. Symphony is my favorite though and I have a soft spot for Harmony of Dissonance.

Castlevania was my first one due to Captain N: The Game Master back in the 80s.

Castlevania 64 was my first. I remember getting it from a used game store because I had heard of the series. I'm now realizing that I don't think I ever finished it though

@retrocademedia-announcements

I grew up on symphony of the night, but also had the first Castlevania around. I didn't own a PS1 memory card as a kid so I never got very far, and the game over screen freaked me out
