I'm pretty sure that's not legal. Unless someone can tell me when official sections were issued against Venezuela?

The US isn't a country, its an oil company with an army.

For anyone who’s not actually aware. Venezuelan oil is extremely “dirty” and it would cost billions of dollars to make facilities to refine it. There’s little profit to be made from Venezuelan oil, and the U.S. is already a net exporter.

Libs ignoring that the tanker “was under US sanctions”. Meaning it already was AND “U.S. sanctions are economic and trade restrictions imposed by the government on individuals, entities, or countries to influence their actions without using military force. These measures can include blocking assets, restricting trade and financial transactions, imposing travel bans, and denying foreign assistance, and are used to address threats to national security or foreign policy goals.” Pretty normal practice

The vessel was under U.S. sanctions, according to Bloomberg and people with knowledge of the matter.
It comes after the U.S. has built up military forces around Venezuela for months in a pressure campaign by the Trump administration to remove Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
