@SENSEF

If you don't have enough money to cover your needs it is IMPOSSIBLE to be happy because you're living in survival mode instead of thriving mode. Huge difference!

Hot take: career fulfillment isn't for everyone and that's okay. I am addicted to fulfillment but it comes at a cost. I strongly envy my friends who can easily lie and compromise their morals to make lots of money.

Oh that's easy even before watching this episode. You can get paid absurd amounts of money but if your work is something you dread or don't align with, you're not going to be happy... Inversely the saying of if you love what you do, you'd even do it for free... Yeah yeah we still got bills. It's about finding that happy median where you're not suffering to follow your passion. I find a lot of people underestimate how happy they'd be with a good career that takes care of their necessities and values even if it only paid like 50k rather than one that pays 90+ but they do it just for the money.

Having enough cash flow to fund your mission is imperative, though. Without enough margin in life and business, sometimes the possibilities to achieve key metrics is greatly hindered

i knew it wasn't the high pay because i recently left my high-pay job because the company no longer lived their M&V (which i was personally aligned with). i could no longer find joy with a company that i worked at for almost a decade... so i left. and i'm happy not to feel morally conflicted every day even though i'm not getting big paychecks anymore ☺️

@erikaquatsch2190

As far as not having a high-paying job, you must objectively determine your needs from your wants/desires.

A crucial step should be calculate the ROI prior to starting your career. That’s why there are students with 6 figure student loan debt who are baristas at Starbucks. You can do what you love, but if you can’t afford to eat at the end of the day/have to live in a car, you will be miserable.

Career fulfillment and rational behavior about economics and the doom of wealth inequality are not the same thing. They are two entities that must be weighed carefully amongst each other and balanced to see which is the best outcome for yourself. Debate the logic and it's validity. It would be hard for a psychologist or psychiatrist to debate it
