Here’s ALL the big AI news that dropped over the past week:
- OpenAI releases GPT-5.1 - OpenAI tests ChatGPT group chats - Microsoft unveils MMCTAgent - NotebookLM allows uploading images - NotebookLM adds Deep Research - DeepMind unveils SIMA 2 agent - Anthropic invests $50B in U.S. AI infrastructure - Anthropic Disrupts 1st AI-Orchestrated Cyber Espionage Campaign - LinkedIn launches AI people search - Baidu launches open multimodal model beating GPT-5 - World Labs launches Marble 3D world model - Waymo expands robotaxi service to highways and airports - ElevenLabs launches Scribe v2 Realtime transcription in 90+ languages - ElevenLabs launches AI voice marketplace for brands - Mozilla unveils AI features for Firefox - Meta unveils omnilingual ASR model for 1,600+ languages - Even Realities unveils Even G2 AR display and R1 wearable
It honestly felt like a slower news week this week in AI. GPT-5.1 is cool but still feels like a fairly marginal improvement (IMO).
Next week, on the other hand... Get ready. I've got a sneaky feeling we have a busy week ahead of us... Microsoft Ignite is happening AND there are tons of rumors and leaks circulating around Google Gemini 3, Nano Banana 2, and a few other things that I'm aware of but not allowed to talk about yet.
So I'm anticipating big announcements from Microsoft and then Google to follow within a day or two with their own big announcements.
