GENUINLEY. A slightly famous BSD creator made a post about how she was going to end her own life, and the comments were HORRENDOUS. After spending quite a while trying to type out the most convincing paragraph I could about why she shouldn't do it, I literally was FLABBERGASTED when I saw all the "OMG NOO DONT END UP LIKE DAZAI!!! 😭" comments

I remember telling my best friend that I had attempted and went fruit ninja on my arms and they had said "no don't be like Dazai!" and just other stuff. I get the joke and when I talk about it I'll say "hey I might've pulled a Dazai" and that's really how we cover it up. But when they say that I don't feel bad about it. It makes me feel like I'm being a bit cared about since they're favorite character is Dazai so I feel at least some comfort when they compare me to Dazai, almost like I'm their favorite friend :)

I honestly really like BSD and i consider myself as a part of the fanndom but when i talk about it i get scared that im gonna be seen as someone like this. As someone insensitive. I get they're just jokes but just because you think of something as a joke doesn't mean everyone does. And if they are venting to you about wanting to do that or feeling like they should do that, you should be there to help them, not just joke about a person, who did do that. But thankfully I've never met anyone in real life who has done any of this stuff (probably because i know of no one who's actually a fan of the show or even knows it exists in real life) but i have seen comments like this. It's so sad how a character in a show based off a real person, makes m people do this stuff. (Im not blamming the show or character for people like this, you're in control of what you say and do but im trying to say the character shouldn't be a reason of why people joke like that)
