You forgot to mention that they also have no understanding of "no excessive running, jumping, or playing". Quiet time doesn't exist to kittens.

Former vet tech here, we call it the Ketamine shuffle. Ketamine is often used as part of the preanesthetic medications for cats, especially for routine or minor procedures. It’s a sedative, dissociative, and analgesic with a fast onset and long action time but unlike some of the other medications used for those things doesn’t tend to depress blood pressure, heart rate, or respiratory rate. So we can use lower (and therefore safer) doses of heavier duty sedatives and pain killers. The heavier duty stuff will wear off or be reversed shortly after surgery so kitty can go home faster and safer but still have something on board that will help them be more comfortable and more inclined to just curl up and sleep it off. If they’re having a bad trip, swaddle in blankets and put somewhere dark and quiet to encourage them to just go to sleep.

One of my favourite videos is of our two kittens post op. It still makes me grin every time I see it.

In my experience kittens only have two settings, pedal to the metal and coma...

I had adopted a kitten from the Animal Shelter in the US and one of the conditions I had she had to be fixed by the shelter. I wanted my kitten to be the only kitten in this household during her natural life span. Now this week is her vaccination day this week. My kitten was so strung out drugs that the bus driver thought the carrier was empty. I doubt she will be quite vocal in the Uber for her vaccinations

Yeah, there's a reason for that, the common anesthetic used by vets is ketimine, had this when we neutered my kitty, just played him some trance and he calmed right down

Seeing my dog when she’s been drugged is both very sad and very funny. So I absolutely understand

They are just darling. Here's hoping they heal quickly once the drugs wear off! ❤😊

No sign of cones . . . Will there be cones? That's when the big chaos begins!

I am a firm believer that the wider a cat’s pupils dilate, the more they less their natural hunting instincts in that period of time, to become what is essentially an agent of curiosity in the most destructive, yet adorable way possible.

Hope they'll be feeling better soon and please what are their names. Virtual lobster for such adorable kitties. And apparently Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia has a sword fight scene in season 2 of Wednesday. Can you analyze it, please?

So could you see the pink elephant that was walking on the ceiling or was it just them?
