Miscast

I'm in nottingham with a bunch of great miniature makers, if you have any questions about making your own miniatures drop them below - designing, sculpting, molding, casting, resin, metal, plastic - anything! I'll incorporate some of them in a video!

1 - How do they go about deciding on dynamic poses? I always end up going for some extremely basic ones when I think of the amount of vents I'll have to put in place to not trap air everywhere when casting 2 - What's their favorite materials to sculpt a mini? And do they often do "mixed mediums"? As one may be better for something while some other material excels at some other thing that they want to incorporate

@Winter-Nine

Not a question but a thank you for inspiring me take up conversions and stop worrying about the end result but rather the process of creating. Love the videos ❤️

@nobrainerpainter

What improved your ability to sculpt the most? What's the best way to get good at sculpting?

@Bad_Moon_Bill

I've got a few questions as i do alot of sculpting on nearly all my minis and would love to improve my skills. (Q1) What are the best tools for sculpting fine details on a mini? (Q2) what casting methods would you recommend for making copies of sculpts? (Q3) what materials for sculpting other than green stuff and miliput would you recommend?

@billiondollarclownfarm

Definitely curious about casting and distribution! No one ever covers casting for mass production enough.

When sculpting or designing a model what kinds of inspiration do you look for? Or what kind of things prompt you to want to make a model? Is it just cool shapes or do you start with an idea or concept and try to bring that to life?

One thing I really enjoy about your channel is that you show more of the process of sculpting. Do you have any suggestions for other YouTube channels that show some of the process? Most cool sculptors I've found just have like a Instagram image portfolio with no process shots. The best I've found so far is kit bash and conversion channels (which is great too), but I'm looking for sculpting from scratch. I'd be very interested in any shout-outs you may have 👍

Ooh! - What was the first thing you ever sculpted? - What would be your #1 tip to anyone starting out with sculpting? - Dream mini you'd love to sculpt one day?

What do you think is the best way to get started if you have no space, money, or time? If you could travel back in time, what item would you give to a younger you? What's your favourite mini that you've seen in the wild? If you had all of the money in the world, what miniatures would you make? Least favourite GW mini and why?

@AgentEmbey

1) How do you go about attracting people to monetize your art? My first goal is always to make designs and art that I like and think are cool, but I've found it difficult to get anyone to care about what I'm making, let alone make any sort of living on it. I've had a few shirts sell here and there on Etsy, but how do I build a fanbase without being in front of a camera? I'm near invisible on IG, it seems. 2) You've really inspired me to just make more cool stuff. You have a wide circle of fellow hobby nerds. Where did you meet all of the folks who collaborate and make cool games and art with?

@andresjoberg

Ooooh, what would you recommend as an absolute first, managable project for someone who wants to try this for the first time? As in «get some cheap toys at a flea market and chop’em up» or «buy some mini’s and frankenstein them together» and what is the «easiest to get» modelling clay alternatives to milliput/green stuff?

@ManglingMinis

It'll probably be asked a few times, but I want to know anyway. For a complete beginner in the UK, what are some good/necessary things to pick up? I want to have a go at casting my own stuff but have no idea where to even start!

What materials are best for sculpting, and what is the best way to learn how to sculpt minis better?

@CHUBBS182

Not a question about that specifically but would love to see a more in depth video about your painting process, how you use oils etc!

@bluekiwi42nd12

What's your favourite material to use for sculpting and what do you prefer to use when casting? Also don't trust UK pies, nowhere as good as Australasian ones, they do know how to make good sausage rolls here tho.

@mattw_dev

What would you recommend as good alternatives to resin for re-casting something you modeled? Not everyone has a workshop 😅 some of us just have there working desk in the living room
