Real comment does anyone else hold their breath when stressed? Whenever i get around a group of people i breath so slow and shallow it makes me even more awkward

bonus points: breathe out for longer than you breathe in to signal to the nervous system that you’re safe :)

Also beware of "fake discounts " guys I swear most stores are marking up above average price, saying its 10 percent off the upcharge price , and acting like its a "deal" for black friday

This reminds me of 'the physiological sigh' I learned from Huberman. It really, really works, and very quickly, when you're all worked up/stressed/anxious. Breathe in, breathe in again, then exhale slowly. Repeat two or three times and within a minute you'll notice a more relaxed heart rate. "The physiological sigh is a powerful tool for calming down and reducing stress. It involves a big, deep inhale through the nose, a second inhale through the nose to maximally inflate the lungs, followed by a long exhale through the mouth until the lungs are empty. This breathing pattern can quickly restore balance in the autonomic nervous system by shifting from sympathetic (fight or flight) to parasympathetic (rest and digest) states"

If you're in such a state that you can't convince yourself to take a breathe in (a place I have found myself in several times), release a big breathe Out first.
