Nice pickup WS!!.. No complaints about my Kelty 80L. Solid piece of kit for several years. It's still the rain season in the bay area... take it slow on that knee, and don't forget a rain cover for that pack too.

Congrats and I hope your knee feels better soon. Mine has been bothering me for months now. My doctor said it was my age and arthritis, ugh! Getting old stinks! I found an REI Trail 40 for under $50 recently. I am currently using it for a weekend getaway.

I began solo backpacking at 40 when I scored a Jansport external frame pack donated by the graduating class of Paul Smith College in the ADKs, NY. I still use it in winter (or whenever there's snow). 🩷💙

Wandering Switchback
I am entirely too excited about my newest piece of gear! I wish I hadn’t donated my old external-frame Jansport (several years ago), but as soon as this knee will allow, I’m taking this bad boy for a spin! After a deep clean, of course.
