Implied Music

Contemplating providing MIDI files for my shorts for you guys. 1.) Would you be willing to pay for access? I can't see doing this for free. 2.) Do you prefer Patreon or YouTube Membership? 3.) (and this is big one) NONE of my MIDI files are quantized/sync'd to a tempo, etc... I just play them in as I go. You'd get the notes, and they'd sound decent at any tempo around 60bpm, but they won't conveniently drop into your own pieces. 4.) I'd have to provide the files with a Creative Commons by-nc-nd license... not for reuse in any way or distribution with attribution. All that said, still interested?

@ChaseP.Carreau

I'd be interested in sheet music. Especially for the interlocking had paterns. I know that's more work on your end. I could see paying for a membership.

Your content and creative ideas are too insightful for midi ‘drag n drop.’ If I’m inspired by a piece/ figure, I learn to play it….. that’s part of the process to appreciating your ideas and integrating them into my music.

@alkali6

Still interested! Would be cool to learn from and experiment with. Would like to read whatever license agreement you come up with

Hi! I had e-mailed you about this a while back, thanks for addressing it. My Patreon mileage varies, I have previously subscribed to a couple of creators and abandoned it after 3-6 months, those 5$ subs add up quickly. Regarding yt subscription, I am paying for yt premium but I wouldn't pay for yt channel subscription. Yt should pay the content creator a part of my monthly fee, like music streaming platforms. I think I would gather any supplementary material in a pdf (like sheet music sketches) and/or midi files and sell it (like on gumroad). Why have another platform to maintain? Are you expecting enough subs to justify your time splitting content and traffic?

Wellllll... I'm an IP communist, so I couldn't promise not to make derivative work, and anyway I can pretty much cop those shorts, especially with the piano roll visible... Would you have any kind of a consult fee to listen and make criticism/suggestions/analysis of viewer composition?
