Jayz being that behind lil Wayne shows just how much damage the internet has done to Hov's reputation w a certain era of hip hop listener

and to the people that say Jay was never number 1...he literally holds the record for most number 1 album debuts by any rap artist. 14 of his albums topped the charts

@1STMAN

Living in the UK we just thought JayZ was some older guy with 1 or 2 bangers from 10 years ago. 50 Cent and Lil Wayne were massive to us. It wasn’t until I moved to North America for a few years that I heard this JayZ’s the GOAT narrative. We laughed it off but it kept being said. I think North Americans got hammered by some marketing campaign around Jay at some point because in Europe he’s barely an afterthought, Beyonce put him on the map in Europe, before that he was the older guy from 99 problems and big pimping honest truth, you had to be really into Hip-Hop to know who he was

'I'm right here, in my chair, with my crown, and my dear, Queen B, as I share, my time, with my heir/ Young Carter, go farther, go further, go harder, is that not why we came? And if not, then why bother?' - Jay laying the foundation for Wayne.

While I was younger it was Wayne. But now that I’m older I understand just how much I been sleeping on HOV.

It’s harder to rap about something than it is to rap about nothing. With that said, Jay Z.

Wayne is the undisputed champion of rap. He's the only successful child rapper to adult. He is the rap equivalent of Micheal jackson. Hotboys era=Jackson five,squad up= off the wall Era, young money= thriller Era, etc.. his greatness is taking for granted he still giving us bars after all these years.

Jay z is a wordsmith indeed but NOBODY can put together metaphors and punchlines like Dwayne Carter especially in his prime. The way he can completely zone out on a record is like no other.

I’m gonna go with Wayne simply because I know more of his songs. And what I have heard him in he always delivers.

Dead Presidents I & II … the story telling, the inspiration, the metaphors, double entendres, context, conviction on delivery, track (one of my favorite samples in hip hop paying not only homage to a fellow NY artist but a East Coast Hip Hop savior in God’s Son himself Nas) and above all PASSION. Jay-Z is most definitely the Mike Jordan or recording, the way he effortlessly rose to prominence post 1996 has only been mimicked by Drake and out done by Eminem, other than those two Biggie, Pac, Nas are the only rappers of his cloth.

All I am going to say is Jay-z on "A Written Testimony" Jay Electronica album dropped some of best bars of his career on that album. Bars so good he had people that don't even like him ready to go and dig up his some of his past albums.

@llugia

I used to be the biggest Wayne fan bag in the squad up days. It took until I got older to understand Jay-Z. Wayne just rap random bars to make rhymes while Jay-Z always on topic
