As of Feb. 1, 2026, passengers without one will be required to pay a $45 fee in order to fly from U.S. airports. The $45 fee will cover travel for a 10-day period. TSA urges travelers who do not have a REAL ID to schedule an appointment at their local DMV to update their ID as soon as possible.
