Oaky california cabs. Newer vintage Camus, for example. People love them, and I just don’t get it.

Vega Sicilia Reserva Especial. If I wanted to drink expensive vinegar, I'd go to Modena.

Lynch Bages. I've had it young, I've had it old and I've had it really old. It never really impresses and there are so many wines coming out of Bordeaux I'd rather drink.

This is so niche and specific but here it goes... - Zagreus Vinica 2019 - Ivo Varbanov Syrah and Viognier I got Rhythm 2017 Both were scored 94 points by the top Bulgarian wine pulblication Divino, I thought they were average wines, at best 😞

When I think of overrated, I think of overpriced. Any wine over about $150 US is certainly overrated and overpriced. No bottle of anything is worth it. In this, I am in good company. Michel Bettane has written that in his opinion there are very few wines that should be priced over €30. Of course he means bought in Europe. In the United States, you could make that US$60 by the time you are done with taxes and handling and shipping and all that. Only the most extraordinary wines could be more than that. And not much more. But I don’t blame anybody. If people were shoveling thousands of dollars at me for one bottle of wine, I would take it.

Pinot but it’s second only to Zinfandel. Yes pinot is expensive cranberry juice.
