My guitar journey began 45 years ago got stuck a few times thankfully videos like yours help me move forward when I'm in a flat spot. I picked up guitar in my youth because I certainly couldn't ice skate to impress the girls 😅 but I've stuck with it and i enjoy doing it

For personal growth - I never learned when I was young, always wanted to learn it but never got started and it’s now something that I decided to spend time actually doing it rather thinking about it - be playing and learning regularly for about three or four years now

The process of learning gives me a sense of purpose. Actual guitar goals keep shifting as my skills add up over time. At first it was to impress myself and others I know. Then it was to actually get good, learn to play freely anything I want without getting lost on the fretboard. Check all that. Currently I’m working on sounding more like pros do, because when I record myself while it looks and sounds ok, it’s easy to see the huge gap between myself and actual pro guitarists or just people that are really good. I have no confidence in my playing and it shows.

Short term goal for me is right now to roll up my sleeves, finally stop neglecting intervals in music theory and start applying it to the blues more deliberate and with better understanding. Long term goal is to always keep playing and practicing throughout my life!

I've been playing for more than 50 years & I've learned a significant amount of lead & some rhythm techniques. But I've never concentrated my attention on rhythm. I plan to make that my prime focus for the near future.

I really want to learn the guitar to get a small little band going hard to find players around me with same taste in music. I don’t care about shredding I want to always be able to be melodic and color the chords and chord changes.
